Yes, things went downhill pretty quickly after he hyper-extended his right knee (pictured) and crumpled to the floor in agony. Nonetheless, you are correct: he is an expressive, brooding presence whilst trodding the boards. Vocally, he is a Hoherbass; he played the role of Caspar in a summer stock production of Der Freischütz that was not to be missed.
